Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have questions about working at Tauber & Balser, P. C.? Wed be more than happy to answer them but first take a look at some of the most FAQ below. If you still have questions, please feel free to e-mail us at hr@tbcpa.com .
What types of internships do you offer?
We offer paid internships during the winter (January-April) and summer (June August) months. Because it is important to us that our interns experience diversification during their internship, we provide hands on experience in the tax, audit and forensic areas. You will be exposed to everyone on our staff, from associates to shareholders, and have an opportunity to learn about our firm and public accounting.
Does your firm offer assistance in obtaining the CPA license?
Yes. To full-time associates, the firm provides time off to sit for the CPA exam. In addition, as an incentive to pass the exam and to assist with the costs of the examination and review classes, our firm pays a $1,500 bonus upon passing all four parts of the exam.
What is busy season like?
During busy season, your work week will increase to a minimum of 44 hours including Saturdays. Although the hours are long, we try to make busy season an enjoyable time to work. The firm provides a variety of fun breaks and activities for the staff, including creative snacks, relaxing massages by a professional masseuse and many other activities. Dinner is provided at the firms expense when you work 11 hours or more. These are just a few of the many activities offered to make this time less stressful.
Does your Firm compensate staff for the required 44 hour work week during busy season?
Yes. Anything above 44 hours during busy season and above 40 hours during off peak time is considered overtime for our professional staff. Our professionals (excluding shareholders and managers) can accumulate comp time for hours worked over and above the firms established hours, which can be taken in time or at straight pay.
What is the morale like at your firm?
The staff is a very close knit group. We work together as a team and make sure we allocate time for play throughout the year. We have our April 15th party to celebrate the successful completion of busy season, days off on Fridays from Memorial Day to Labor Day, summer outings, and our annual appreciation party during the holiday season to recognize our staff and their contributions to the firm.
